WE FOR JET invites civil society organizations, communities, media, academics, private sector actors, government institutions, development partners, and other stakeholders to collaborate in strengthening a just energy transition in Indonesia.
Energy transition is not only about shifting energy sources. It is also about who participates, who benefits, and how groups whose voices are often unheard can help shape the direction of change. For this reason, WE FOR JET promotes an approach that recognizes women, young people, persons with disabilities, Indigenous Peoples, local communities, and other vulnerable groups as key actors in renewable energy development.
Why Collaboration Matters
Indonesia is at an important moment in accelerating the use of clean and renewable energy. However, in many areas, access to reliable, affordable, and locally appropriate energy remains a challenge.
At the same time, many communities already have local knowledge, practices, and initiatives that can contribute to the solution. Collaboration is needed to strengthen these experiences, document them, support their replication, and connect them with wider policy, financing, and technical support.
Areas for Collaboration
WE FOR JET is open to various forms of collaboration, including:
Knowledge development and learning
Developing research, policy briefs, stories of change, good practice documentation, and other knowledge products related to a just energy transition.
Community capacity strengthening
Training, mentoring, and peer learning to strengthen the leadership of women, vulnerable groups, and local communities in renewable energy.
Policy advocacy
Working together to promote energy policies that are more inclusive, gender-responsive, disability-inclusive, and supportive of affected communities.
Public communication and campaigns
Producing content, media coverage, digital campaigns, public discussions, and narratives on a just energy transition.
Innovation and technical support
Developing community-based renewable energy models, appropriate technology solutions, local enterprise strengthening, and sustainable financing approaches.
Who Can Collaborate
We welcome collaboration with stakeholders working on energy, climate, GEDSI, rural development, economic empowerment, rights of vulnerable groups, public communication, research, and social innovation. Collaboration can take place at the community, local, national, or network level.
